LazyBreeze Jewelry is a MVP on Silkfair January 15, 2009

My store on Silkfair is getting attention! My traffic there is pretty high and recently I’ve been on the front page pretty consistently.  Silkfair randomly chooses which items it puts on its front page, based on the quality of photographs and so on.  On Etsy, there are so many talented jewelry makers I’m lucky I get the traffic I do! But Silkfair is still growing, and I’m glad I joined when I did.  Also, I’m currently an MVP at Silkfair for most invitations sent. Basically that means that one of my items is shown on the front page all the time! I’m really excited about that of course.  Here are some screen shots

LazyBreeze Jewelry Photos January 3, 2009

This week I dedicated myself to taking pictures of new and old jewelry alike.  Some of the pieces in my stores are not being done justice so I decided to improve the pics.  I’m happy with the results!  I’ve realized that papyrus is the perfect background for my jewelry.  I can’t believe I hadn’t realized it before!  Its so me, since I love Ancient Egypt, plus it photographs like a dream, and I haven’t seen it used in other pics of jewelry on Etsy either.

I’m still working on it, but I will be sending out periodic emails with pics of new jewelry, special offers, announcements and so on.  Mainly I’m doing this because some of the people I know simply do not check Facebook or MySpace, don’t use Twitter and really need an email to remind them to come look at my shop.

Black Friday November 28, 2008

Its 7am on Black Friday, and I should still be in bed. Or I should be able to be going mad shopping like a lot of people. Instead, I woke up early because my husband had to get up at 4, to be at his job on time to open the store to the crowds at 6:30. Its alright though, I had a great Thanksgiving with family, came home to a nice big order at the store.

Using Twitter has been a success, the girl who placed the order is someone I met through there. Also through tweeting, I’ve run into the mother of an ex-coworker, how random is that? Its also improved the amount of traffic to LazyBreeze Jewelry.  My videos on YouTube have also had a pretty good amount of views. I posted one on IndiePublic and its been on the front page for a few days now, woohoo!

Just a few reminders, LazyBreeze Jewelry will be at the Homegrown for the Holidays art fair on Dec. 20th, Thornton Ave, Orlando from 11am-7pm.

Also, exclusive necklaces can be found at Downtown Divas Orlando! The necklaces I sell there are much more simple in design but so pretty, delicate creations on chain with a sprinkling of semiprecious beads and exquisite LillyPilly pendants. Make sure to shop there if you’re ever in the UCF area!

New Jewelry Video November 23, 2008

I dedicated myself today to taking pics of the earrings I’ve made in the past week, they are now all up for sale at the LazyBreeze Jewelry shop.  All of the earrings are made with authentic semiprecious stones, unless otherwise stated.

I also made a brand new video, with myself in it this time, showing a set and the earrings.  Making the video was interesting, I felt like I was making an infommercial, lol. I guess thats kinda what it is…. In reality, I want people to be able to see what the jewelry looks like when its put on, to get a better perspective of just how long the earrings are, where necklaces fall on the chest, and things like that.  Since I don’t have models in my pics, and its incredibly hard to photograph myself wearing the jewelry, the video does the job.  Hope you like it, feel free to comment.

LazyBreeze Jewelry @ Homegrown for the Holidays November 21, 2008

I’m so excited! We got invited to participate in Homegrown for the Holidays, a local arts and craft fair.  Only handmade items by local artisans will be on display, and I’m very happy one of those tables will be ours.  Its December 20th, on Thornton Ave, right off 50, in Central Florida. LazyBreeze Jewelry will be on sale there from 11am-7pm.  There’s going to be live music, giveaways and much more! Hope to see you there.

LazyBreeze Jewelry At Natura Cafe, Orlando, FL November 20, 2008

LazyBreeze Jewelry will be showcased at Natura Cafe tonight from 9pm onwards.  Natura Cafe is a great spot to hangout, with hookahs, herbal and bubble teas, imported beers, and more. Local artists and musicians have a friend in this popular spot with open mic nights, jazz nights, art displays on the walls and now, LazyBreeze Jewelry is available whenever I get the chance to go.  I’ll be trying to be there on a more consistent basis, at least twice a week. So come over, smoke a hookah, drink some exotic brew and get some fabulous jewelry too!

Videos of Jewelry November 18, 2008

So my best friend taught me how to make videos with iMovie on my Mac. Obviously, I had to make one of my jewelry! I’ve posted it on YouTube, MySpace, Facebook…the usual.  Take a look!    I’m hoping it’ll bring more traffic to the shop. I intend on making more, maybe even model the jewelry in some of them so people can get a better sense of how the pieces actually look. In my opinion you can only imagine so much with the pictures, especially if like me, you don’t have a model in them.
