This week I dedicated myself to taking pictures of new and old jewelry alike. Some of the pieces in my stores are not being done justice so I decided to improve the pics. I’m happy with the results! I’ve realized that papyrus is the perfect background for my jewelry. I can’t believe I hadn’t realized it before! Its so me, since I love Ancient Egypt, plus it photographs like a dream, and I haven’t seen it used in other pics of jewelry on Etsy either.
You can see all the pics, including those of items soon to be available but not yet listed on my Picasa album.
As always, my jewelry is available at LazyBreeze Jewelry on Etsy.

Hi LadyBreeze,
Your pictures are great. I love the detail of your jewelry. I have a website and the pictures don’t do the jewelry justice. What kind of camera and setup do you use for your pictures?
Nancy
Hi Nancy!
Thank you very much, its been a learning process. My camera is a digital Fujifilm J150w. Its a 10.0 megapixel. I don’t even use the highest resolution for pics, I put the cam on 5 megapixels, half its capacity. These pics were taken indoors, although if possible I try to take them outside, it was too windy that day however. I took them in my room by the window, the sun was not hitting directly, the background needs to be light so as to make the jewelry stand out. My recommendation, experiment, I’ve taken pics in different light, outdoors at different times of day, indoors as well. Also, having a good program for editing is a must. I use Aperture on my Mac, it lets me crop and lighten the pics one after the other without too much work or the need to open each file independently. Hope that helps!

Hi Melissa,
Your explanation really helps. My camera is only 3.0 megapixels. I really didn’t even think of using a program for editing the pictures. I was just using them as is. Thanks much and good luck in your jewelry selling.

Your welcome Nancy! Best of luck to you too
